It’s time for some must-watch TV, friends, when Tom Hiddleston hits the small screen in the six-part mini-series, The Night Manager, tonight. I’ve seen the first couple of episodes already and I have to say they were riveting, as are most things based on John le Carré novels! In the series, Hiddleston plays hotel manager Jonathan Pine as he tries to take down philanthropist and suspected arms dealer, Richard Roper, played by Hugh Laurie. Based on the first two episodes, this is definitely do-not-miss-it television. So make sure you head over to AMC to check it out. I know you’re as happy to have
Loki Hiddleston back on the small screen as I am!
In The Night Manager, we follow Jonathan Pine’s quest to bring down international arms dealer Richard Roper. Pine, a former soldier, is thrust into a world of international intrigue when he is recruited by a British intelligence officer to infiltrate Roper’s inner circle. To get to the heart of Roper’s vast empire, Pine must withstand the allure of his beautiful girlfriend Jed and the suspicious interrogations of his venal chief of staff Major Corkoran. In his quest to do the right thing, Pine must first become a criminal himself.
In addition to Hiddleston and Laurie, the series stars always-fabulous Olivia Colman (Broadchurch) as Angela Burr, Pine’s hander; Elizabeth Debicki as Jed Marshall, the girlfriend of Roper; Tom Hollander as Major Corkoran, Roper’s chief of staff; Alistair Petrie as Sandy Langbourne, David Harewood as Joel Steadman, and Tobias Menzies as Geoffrey Dromgoole.
The Night Manager premieres tonight, April 19, at 9:00pm CT/10:00 pm ET on AMC.
