Fear The Walking Dead returns to AMC for its second season premiere tonight. In the first season, we had a bit of trouble feeling any connection with the main cast. They constantly made poor decisions based on their needs without any concern for those other souls still left alive with them. When his group left their cordoned off neighborhood for good, they did not bother to stop and close the gate behind them. This decision left the remaining families in jeopardy, of course! Later, Daniel led them to the auditorium with hundreds of Walkers, where they proceeded to use the Walkers to overrun the military hospital compound to save their family members. Nevermind that they endangered every other human in there and got most of them killed. But bless goodness, they protected their own. I realize a zombie apocalypse would make you have to make some tough decisions, but losing your humanity within two days of zombies overrunning the place means you were not a great person to begin with, doesn’t it? Series producers are saying they are taking the series another direction this season. Let’s hope they mean they are planning on giving them good instincts and a moral compass they were seriously lacking in Season One. I just hated not being able to like Cliff Curtis’s or Kim Dickens’ characters, as they have both been excellent actors throughout their careers. I really would like to be able to root for them! Let’s get off to a better start this time around, please, with the episode “Monster” on the Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 premiere tonight on AMC.
In tonight’s episode, “Monster,” our families flee a burning Los Angeles on Strand’s yacht. Strand remains mysterious, and our group encounters danger at sea.
FTWD stars Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, Frank Dillane as Nick Clark, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris Manawa, Ruben Blades as Daniel Salazar, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia Salazar, and Colman Domingo as Victor Strand.
Fear The Walking Dead airs tonight, April 10, at 8:00 pm CT/9:00 pm ET on AMC.
